Design Philosophy
I am a comic artist and illustrator from Cumbria based in Lancashire, with a passion for writing and illustrating stories. My work tends to unfold from poems or thoughts capturing a feeling or experience, exploring emotional, personal and often challenging subject matter. Visually, my work is often whimsical, however grounded in reality, comfort and home, not dissimilar to the Magical Realism genre in traditional literature. I work in a range of mediums, including ball-point pen, pencil, coloured pencils, pastel and coloured inks. Debut graphic novel Giant coming 2024 with Faber & Faber. Represented by Literary Agent, James Spackman of The BKS Agency. Clients include Faber & Faber, BBC, Art Fund, WWF, RSPCB, Cancer Research UK and more. Qualifications Achieved a First Class Honours Degree in BA (Hons) Illustration at the University of Edinburgh.
